Ås, Norway

A pilot Creative Partnerships (CP) programme was launched in December 2011 in five schools in Ås, funded by specific grants from the Norwegian authorities.

The project was managed by the Culture School in Ås. CCE provided training for Creative Agents, led intensive workshops with each school to identify the school issue on which they wanted to work, and visited schools to monitor the quality of the programme and to agree the approach to evaluation and the evidence each school and Creative Agent was required to collect.

Feedback from head teachers showed that they valued the programme and clearly understood the contribution it makes to professional development among their teachers. A full project report can be found here.

The project continued for a second year, during which three schools were involved. The project was then suspended, primarily because of changes to the funding of such interventions in school, resulting in the Culture School being unable to access financial support.
