Between 2016 and 2017, CCE worked with Hungarian partners Tarki Tudok, to support the improvement and development of a primary school in Remete, Romania, serving an ethnic Hungarian rural community in the North of Romania. Facing significant social and educational challenges, the community invested in a strategy to train and deploy local artists to work with teachers in the school to support a change in teaching practice with a view to significantly improving attainment among the children.
read moreIn 2016, CCE worked with the youth department and the cultural sector in Helsinki to organise a ‘take over day’ whereby groups of Finnish teenagers were responsible for devising and delivering a series of creative and artistic interventions in the City’s major museums and galleries. There are plans to repeat the project in 2017.

read moreDuring 2016, CCE worked closely with CEDETI, a research institute at the Pontifical University of Santiago, which brings together psychologists, educationalists and digital designers to develop solutions to educational challenges. CCE has collaborated with CEDETI on the creation of a ‘curriculum’ of arts based activities devised to develop the executive functions of children and a digital instrument which will measure that impact that this has on children’s development.
read moreIn 2013, CCE provided an intensive programme of training and support to a small visual arts school in Ho Chi Minh city, in Vietnam, to help develop the capacity of the staff to nurture creativity in children and young people.
read moreBetween 2010 and 2014, CCE supported the development and roll out of a programme funded by the Mercator Foundation which placed artists in schools across seven regions of Germany. CCE helped the Foundation draft the original concept paper which was approved by the Mercator Board in the Autumn of 2010, and continued to offer training support and advice for a number of years. The programme continues in Germany, albeit in altered form. The programme is modelled on Creative Partnerships and is funded by the German Foundation Stiftung Mercator...
read moreBetween 2013 and 2015, CCE was supported by the Guys and St Thomas Foundation to explore the relationships between pedagogy, well-being and health outcomes, building on work previously commissioned by CCE. The work, undertaken by Professors Ros McLellan and Maurice Galton of Cambridge University resulted in the publication of report ‘The Impact of Arts Interventions on Health Outcomes’ and can be found here.
