“We believe that the best education has creativity at its heart”

 

We believe that the highest quality engagement with children and young people should include:

• Recognising Creative Skills and Behaviours – the ‘habits of mind’ which characterise the creative learner and creative teacher. These behaviours should be referenced in the planning and development of any activities aimed at unlocking the creativity of children and young people.

• Partnership Working – the importance of co-planning, dialogue, a shared purpose and clarity of outcomes to successful projects.

• Evidence and Evaluation – whatever creative learning activity is undertaken it is important to be clear about what success would look like and what evidence might be used to help reference that success. Evidence shouldn’t necessarily be expected to speak for itself – it needs to be analysed, thought through, made sense of, and then reflected back.
